DOGONFUNNY® has an Angel! Our youngest rescued dog is a darling cockapoo who we re-named Angel two years ago.She had been given to an already too busy family by a well-meaning relative as a Christmas present. Any animal welfare activist will tell you that this is one of the worst ideas possible, because a pet is a big commitment that every family must truly want to take on! With 3 children and both parents working, a puppy is the last thing that this family needed or wanted. As a result, the pup spent most of her day isolated and alone. She was obviously well care for physically, and she was nearly 100% house-trained when we got her, but she has a real problem with separation anxiety, as would be expected! After all, her whole world had been turned upside down.

She was almost handed over to a "kill" shelter because the family may have believed that she would be adopted immediately. What they did not know was that this particular shelter has a policy of "putting down" all owner-surrendered animals. Fortunately, The Fallston Animal Rescue Movement (F.A.R.M.) was called, since they visit this county shelter regularly to rescue animals that they think they can place. Then, someone did adopt her - and they returned her the next day! It seems that she had an accident on the carpet. Because we have had many dogs, we know that this problems can be corrected with patient and consistent training. By-the-way, she loves to model! She is a real natural, and as you ca see, she's one of a kind!

A s for the other little cutie that now appears in many of our cards, Maggie the bichon-poodle mix, is our own very special neighbor! She is lucky enough to have a wonderful family that includes 3 smart and loving children who take great care of her. She is the only model that we use who was not a rescue, but we believe that she was added to her family in the right way, so her example is an important lesson as well. Maggie was planned for and much research went into her selection, training and care. When we baby-sit her during their vacations, the children let me know that I can feel free to take her picture - and I do! Trading dog-sitting favors with a trusted neighbor is a great way to make sure that your pet is well-care for when you have to be away! |

Adopt One More Pet!
We want to begin a new campaign that simply states: Adopt One More to eliminate homeless pets! If every person who reads this message takes in one animal, how many could we help? Dogs, for example, are pack animals and with a little training, effort and patience, they can get along great. They keep each other company when you have to be away, and they are even more fun to watch when they play together.
Some of our new pets were accepted right away by our own little pack, but others took some time. Still, any time invested was more than worth it when we see how they have enriched our lives!
No matter how much love you give to animals, you can never give them as much as they give you. Our dogs are always there with a happy face and a wagging tale, making us feel like we are the most important people on earth. We hope that you will be inspired to adopt your next superstars at your local shelter!
Thank you for helping the animals! Bill, Marlene, Ollie & Snoopy!
