Attractions within walking distance of the Baltimore Convention Center and nearby hotels:
Baltimore's Inner Harbor is a favorite tourist destination for shopping, food, and world-class exhibits that are well worth a visit. (We FOUND our wonderful logo-dog Ollie at the Inner Harbor one lucky day in September when he was only 1 year old! He's the super-cool dude in the ad, above!) The harbor is also home to a National Historic Landmark, the USS Constellation, a beautifully restored and still-floating, civil-war era ship that you can visit and tour! See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Constellation_(1854) to read about her fascinating history!
The National Aquarium in Baltimore is one of our most popular must-sees, but the Preakness, (2nd jewel in the Triple Crown of horse racing) & the Baltimore Orioles (vs. Washington Nationals) are both in town on the same weekend as the HH Backer Show! We highly recommend that if you plan to see the Aquarium, you visit their web site at http://www.aqua.org/ to plan your visit and purchase your tickets online!:
The Maryland Science Center (including an Imax theater) is also a feature-packed destination with exhibits that explore subjects from dinosaurs to space travel. Go To: www.marylandsciencecenter.org
Fort McHenry, is the 18th century brick fortress famous for being the birthplace of the National Anthem written by Francis Scott Key. Also notable is the fact that the fort was able to defend the port of Baltimore from British advancement during the War of 1812. (Easily accessible from the Inner Harbor by water taxi: GoTo: http://www.thewatertaxi.com/ )

Nearby and easily accessible:
Art lovers will want to visit the Walters Art Gallery, only 1 mile north of the Inner Harbor. The collection begins with ancient treasures from Egypt, Greece, Rome and the Americas and it spans the centuries with wonderful collections of paintings, drawings, manuscripts, rare books and sculpture taking the visitor up to the 19th century. Admission is free! Go To: http://www.thewalters.org/
The Baltimore Museum of Art, 3 miles north of the Inner Harbor, houses a world-class collection of contemporary art. Especially notable is the Cone Collection which includes more works by Henri Matisse than any other museum in the world! You will also find works by great European masters from the 15 th century to the present. Admission is free! Though the distances are close, we recommend that you take a taxi rather than attempt to drive. Many downtown roads are one-way, parking is limited and often expensive. Allow at least 2-4 hours to see each.

Railroad enthusiasts shouldn't miss the fabulous Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum which is recognized as being the oldest collection of American railroad artifacts in the world. This museum takes the visitor from the early days of railroading in 1830 up to the present time with nearly 200 locomotives and other large pieces, as well as hundreds of thousands of smaller artifacts. It has been named a National Historic Landmark and it is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Museum! The Roundhouse, significantly damaged in 2003 has been beautifully restored to its original splendor. It is a 125 ft. tall, circular building that covers an more than an acre of space and it is the most well-known space in the 40 acre site! GoTo: http://www.borail.org/

Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards with exhibits that showcase some of Baltimore's baseball greats like Brooks Robinson and Cal Ripken, and famous football stars from the Baltimore Colts like Johnny Unitas.
The Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum, located a few blocks from
