Every pet has a part of their personality that seems to truly define their character. Snoopy was a clown through and through. We found him wandering on a rural road late one cold February evening. He was limping badly and seemed frightened, but he came to us with a bit of coaxing. He had no tags or collar and he obviously needed help, so we put him into the car thinking we could find him a good home.
Ollie, our logo inspiration, was one of our earliest rescues. We spotted him from a pavilion balcony overlooking Baltimore's beautiful Inner Harbor. He was a scruffy little mutt sitting at the edge of a crowd of people as they enjoyed a group of energetic acrobatic street performers. He looked quite at home as he opened his mouth in a gigantic yawn that ended with a big goofy grin. Of course, we just had to go and meet him!
Ben was actually our first rescue, although he didn't start out that way. He had been adopted from a county shelter by my good friend and his wonderful six-year-old daughter, who had finally talked her dad in to getting her a dog. This happy little mixed terrier was about 1 year old and it's hard to believe, but he had very little chance of being adopted until Alison decided to save him.
Dogonfunny's® mission with every card and every story is to strongly promote animal rescue and pet adoption. Homeless animals are full of love and affection - they only need a chance to show it. These are a few of our own pets who had a hard start in life but who found their forever home with us.
Marlene and Bill Barnes are the founders and owners of Dogonfunny® Creations. Marlene is the photographer & designer. She and Bill often collaborate on the captions and the happy-ending stories of pet adoption. They hope to inspire more animal rescue and support for organizations that make life better for all pets. The company donates generously to animal rescue groups with every sale and strongly advocates for animal welfare issues.
